This fabulous vintage 1880s hand fire cart arrived yesterday at our sister shop

Stillington Vintage Emporium.

This Dutch hand pulled fire cart has its original hoses and is now going to have a light restoration and be added to the private collection of carts we have in the car museum.

Fire related items will be added to the cart.

To view this one and all the others the classic car collection and the shop full of kitchenalia it is open

Tuesday to Saturdays and the first Sunday of every month.

1955 FIAT TOPOLINO

We have decided to sell one of our classic cars out of the private collection.

This stunning 1955 Fiat Topolino is being offered for sale and is a beautiful example.

Finished in a pale olive green with green leather seats the little car is also an extremely rare 'RIGHT HAND DRIVE' version.

This full fold back convertible roof model is the last of the topolino's produced as the 'C' model (convertible) and production ceased in 1955.

This Topolino was first registered in England in April 1955.

The little 569cc (16hp ish) engine runs extremely well and is like a little sewing machine.

Definitely not the quickest but extremely fun to drive with a four speed synchromesh manual gearbox.

The car was purchased by us about 14 years ago and has been in our private car collection as more of a museum piece. The previous owner also had it in a private collection as a museum piece.

The condition is excellent for a vehicle of this age and only has a few age related marks.. nothing you'd ever worry about.

Only ever up to 400 right hand drive topolino's were produced out of the 520,000 originally made.

Suicide doors, convertible, and an absolute head turner the Topolino 'C' was know as the little Mouse and it's tiny.

ORIGINAL 1905 MILK CART

The latest addition to the private collection we have at our sister shop Stillington Vintage Emporium is this unbelievable Edwardian Hand Pulled Milk Cart.

The top of the cart is sheltered by a canopy, with decoration on the side which reads "By appoint to H.M The King" with "Express Dairy Co Ld" underneath. The top of the cart is fitted to carry an ample amount of milk bottles. Below this, there are two doors opening to reveal space for milk churns.

The milk cart is in an original condition, with all of its original paintwork and decoration.

A bit of history....

The cart once belonged to Lord Rayleigh Farms which at the time owned over 8,000 acres of farmland in Essex and Suffolk and supplied the people of London, including the royal household.

When the great agricultural depression of the 1880’s came, ruining many tenant farmers and causing them to abandon their farms it was physicist John Strutt, 3rd Baron Rayleigh at the helm. Fortuitously, his younger brother, Edward Strutt, was a keen farmer and countryman, so in partnership with his brother they took the land in hand and farmed it under the name of Lord Rayleigh’s Farms. Edward Strutt was an outstandingly successful farmer and businessman the secret of his success was establishing the mixed (arable and dairy) farming system. All costs, including the cows’ feed to individual milk yields were meticulously recorded to enable informed management decision making, and implement economies. His success at Terling soon came to the notice of other landowners, who asked him to manage their land.

‘B type’ half size handbuilt omnibus

The latest addition to the motoring collection at our sister shop Stillington Vintage Emporium is this one of only 8 built B Type omnibus’s.

This was built to a perfect half size copy in 1965 by a well known mini car builder Alexander ‘SANDY’ Fraser.

This is gorgeous and has beautiful aged patina that will be getting a light restoration of sign writing and re commissioning.

It runs with a triumph 1200cc engine with 4 speed box and outside hand brake.

This example has been featured in many magazines in the past and is ideally suited for children of 2 to 12 years due it it’s size.

This particular bus has had hundreds of people sat in over the years as well as the royal family at Althorp House and including a sadly missed Princess Diana.

Was also seen on Blue Peter.

Out of the 8 ever built there is a rumor one is in Germany and one in the Covent Garden motoring museum…… Do you know the wareabouts of the other 5….

Albion lorry half size handbuilt replica

This a half size Albion lorry thats part of our small museum collection.

All hand built made on a metal chassis with lawnmowwer running gear and steering.

The handmade wood cab is a perfect replica and is handpainted with opening doors and Albion handmade front grill.

The emporium is open Tuesday's to Satureday's 9-4 and the museum is adjacent to the shop.

Bulit as a one off on its own chassis and a hamdmade aluminium body .

SOLD-1989 Reliant sheltland van by asquith

This is a reproduction of a 1920s Morris van but with modern running gear.

Based on a Reliant fox chassis and with a nippy 850cc engine and manual gearbox its great fun to drive.

The full body, wings and doors are fiberglass.
