A magnificent antique Eastern European pine glazed display dresser, dating from approximately 1880–1910.
A particularly impressive and substantial piece, constructed in beautifully figured Eastern European pine, with exceptional natural grain and character throughout.
The dresser has a large glazed upper display cabinet with multiple shelves, sitting above a generous enclosed cupboard base with three panelled doors.
The craftsmanship is especially attractive, with reeded and carved corner pilasters, decorative carved motifs, shaped mouldings and a substantial architectural cornice.
The whole piece stands on distinctive turned bun feet, giving it a wonderful period presence.
The lower cupboards provide excellent storage, while the glazed upper section is perfect for displaying china, kitchenalia, antiques, books or collections.
The pine has a lovely naturally aged appearance, with wonderful figuring, knots and variation in colour that are characteristic of old Eastern European pine.
The combination of the large scale, decorative carving and practical storage makes this an unusually impressive example.
