We have available this stunning ‘HERBERTS of SMITHFIELD’ butchers block.
This is just stunning and oozes patina and is complemented with its original base and makers plate.
This is full of character and definitely a one off statement piece in any home.
HERBERTS of SMITHFIELD were originally Herbert & Sons, manufacturers of scales and balances (as well as suppliers of various butcher’s paraphernalia).
In 1867 they bought out an older firm of scale and balance makers Woods of West Smithfield. Hence their name on this butchers block.
Ideal in a kitchen to be used as an island unit or maybe a hall table with a nice lamp on.
Very hard to get such a nice interesting item.
Please note this is very old and has old markings and patina on the top, but just makes it more of a talking point.
Measuring 1215 long x 615 deep on the end boards (590 deep block) x 830 high
