old butchers block on a newly made painted base

This gorgeous 4 x 2 butchers block is new into stock and has a great patina with its newly made old style base.
The base is made in pine and then painted in Little Greenes Nether Red and has a distressed chipped paint effect.
Bit different with its little cutely drawer, big drawer and low old pine shelf.
This week the block has been hot pressure washed, stripped, sanded, treated and bleached and is now ready for everyday use.
The block had a large crack and this has been clamped closed with end grain hardwood and is now smooth and held underneath with metal braces.
A lovely block and base that’s nice from all sides and ideal in a farmhouse kitchen.
