Victorian Pine Box with Painted Stately Home Decoration
£395.00
A lovely old Victorian pine box, full of character, with a beautifully painted house scene added to the front at a later date. The decoration depicts an impressive stately home, with elegant symmetrical windows, a grand central entrance, decorative pediment and little garden details. The date 1776 is painted above the doorway, adding to the charm and character of the piece.
The soft sage green and cream painted decoration sits beautifully against the darker top, giving the box a lovely aged appearance. The interior offers plenty of useful storage space and would make a great toy box, as well as being a rather attractive decorative piece in its own right.
A charming and unusual piece, combining an old Victorian pine box with later folk-art inspired decoration, sure to make a lovely addition to any home.
