**A little history**
Mora clocks originated in the Mora district of Dalarna, Sweden, during the late 18th and 19th centuries. They became particularly popular during the 19th century, when local farming families produced clock cases during the quieter winter months. Their distinctive curvaceous shapes and painted finishes have since become synonymous with traditional Swedish country interiors.
This example has a particularly appealing decorative presence, with its unusual proportions and folk-art-inspired painted crest.
A lovely statement piece for collectors of antique clocks and lovers of Scandinavian country furniture.
