Early 20th Century Collinson’s Dapple Grey Rocking Horse
£645.00
A lovely traditional wooden rocking horse by the renowned Liverpool makers J. Collinson & Sons, dating from around 1920ā1940.
Finished in its attractive dapple-grey colouring, with contrasting dark markings, this is a particularly characterful example with a lovely aged appearance. It retains its leather bridle and harness, decorative rosettes, red velvet saddle seat, leather saddle flaps and original stirrups, all adding to its traditional charm.
Mounted on its substantial wooden safety stand, it has all the character and craftsmanship associated with these much-loved British rocking horses.
The horse is missing its pin on mane, which has been absent for a considerable length of time. We have chosen to leave it as found, and this is reflected in its overall character and condition.
A little history

This example is believed to date from the early part of the 20th century, approximately the 1920sā1940s, although an exact date is difficult to establish.
A lovely old collectable rocking horse, full of charm, nostalgia and traditional English craftsmanship. Equally at home in a country house, nursery or as part of a rocking horse collection.
